New call, browser opens www.goole.com

We are using RingCentral app for Teams with the RingCentral for Teams Desktop Plugin. We have users when they receive a call their browser opens a new tab to www.goole.com. Just started today and it is happening to several users. I have verified they do not have RingCentral Desktop app installed, and the "Launch an external app or website for incoming calls" is not a setting in the Teams RC app. How do I resolve this for my users? Also, why was this turned on in the first place?

Our users have the desktop RC app and this was turned on for many (but apparently not all) on 3/22/24. Same thing - Launch and external app.... and set to https://www.goole.com

Thankfully we can "manage" it at the user level and at least toggle it off. What happened from RingCentral they have not answered.

You can go here and vote for them to allow admins to toggle the Launch an external app... at a company level: https://ideas.ringcentral.com/forums/958493-phone-messaging/suggestions/48017498-ability-of-the-admin-to-configure-launch-an-exter
