Hardware voip desktop phone use with desktop app free or have to pay for a second line?

Our 4 ring central phone lines connect to 4 hardware phones. Can you use a desktop app with the same lines that are assigned to the hardware phones or do you have to buy additional lines?

no additional lines need to be added, just sign into the app with the User email and password into the desktop app or mobile app.
